Robert Allaire is a Los Angeles-based film composer whose work at the intersection of music and sound design has garnered accolades from LA Weekly and The New York Times. His unique style fuses bold orchestral elements with noisy electronics and unconventionally played instruments. He has scored numerous feature films, shorts, shows, web series, and movie trailers, and his work has been heard in over 2,500 episodes of television.
Robert’s egalitarian approach to a diverse range of musical styles has led to wide variety in his film work. He composed a classic action-adventure score for MGM’s prequel series Stargate: Origins, provided an intimate, romantic orchestral score for Dennis Hauck’s bold debut feature Too Late, a metal-infused noise score featuring the sound of razor blades on guitar strings for Adam Egypt Mortimer’s feminist slasher Some Kind of Hate, and a dark, glitchy electronic score for Sony video game Kill Strain.
Other recent film and television credits include Better Call Saul Presents: Slippin’ Jimmy for AMC+, AT&T Original Documentary Alone in the Game, SXSW official selections See You Then and Hypochondriac, and Sony Pictures’ action comedy Sniper: G.R.I.T, which reached the top 10 on Netflix in 2023. Recent video game credits include a music kit for Valve’s Counter-strike: Global Offensive, and several themes for Riot Games’ League of Legends. He has composed additional music for FX’s American Horror Story, and NBC’s Ironside, while short films he has scored have appeared on FX, Hulu, and Adult Swim.
Additionally, Robert has written many string arrangements for pop/rock songs, working with artists such as David Kushner, Gin Wigmore, and Clinton Kane. His first single with Kane, I Guess I’m In Love, reached platinum certification in the United States in 2023 and currently has more than 400 million streams on Spotify.
Robert received a Master of Fine Arts degree in Music Composition from the California Institute of the Arts, where he studied with composers Michael Fink, Ulrich Krieger, and David Rosenboom.
Robert prefers his coffee black, his whiskey neat, and his eggs cooked over-medium. He’s much sillier in person than you would think.
